Class Descriptions
These descriptions are a guideline to help you choose a yoga style that suits you. Each yoga practice offers different benefits and will challenge you in different ways. We recommend trying out a few different classes to discover what type of yoga best suits your needs.
You will also find a teacher’s unique personality, experience and training influences their approach.
Gentle Yoga
Incorporating elements of Yoga therapy, these are slower paced classes where you will stretch, breathe and flow gently through
traditional asanas. In a safe and comfortable environment, we explore and reconnect with our bodies, encouraging mindfulness, expansion of the heart center, self-acceptance and self-love. All levels of fitness are welcome in this class.
Hatha Flow
Explore the many elements of classical Hatha yoga in a class that emphasizes slow mindful vinyasa, pranayama (breath work),
meditation and therapeutic asana. This class is beneficial for both beginning and continuing students. Beginners will learn the foundations of asana and breath work necessary for a strong and safe practice. Continuing students will discover a new dimension
in their practice by holding and going deeper into poses with focus on improving concentration and ability to utilize the breath.
Focus is on releasing blockages and finding healing and freedom in body and mind. Suitable for all levels.
Hatha Yoga for the Core
A Yoga Tune Up inspired class that focuses on strengthening the core body. Working the full length of the spine, including breathing,
abdominals, and twists we'll strengthen and stretch all the elements of the core body. Much of the work is done on the ground and
is suitable for a variety of levels, ages, and abilities.
Hatha Yin / Yang
Fuses the dynamic practice of Hatha yoga (yang energy) with the deep stretch of Yin yoga and supportive release of Restorative yoga
(yin energies). The two energies of yin and yang compliment each other to create a perfectly balanced practice so you can find your
inner zen as you get your workout in! Yin postures develop meditative awareness and target the deep connective tissues, while
rhythmic and dynamic movement of hatha and vinyasa yoga tones muscles and improves concentration. Each style of yoga is practiced
for half the class. Beneficial for everyone, from beginner to advanced, especially those with active lives (cyclists, runners,
Vinyasa/Ashtanga Yoga practitioners). Suitable for all levels.
Community Class ($10)
In the spirit of karma yoga , our Community classes are offered at a reduced price of just $10. Cash only please. No charge for Monthly or 1st Week Unlimited pass holders. Please read appropriate class description for more details on specific classes.
Restorative Yin
Combining the best of parts of both practices, Restorative Yin gets deep into the body’s connective tissues, challenging your physical and mental stamina through long, slow stretches and relaxing, therapeutic poses.
Restorative Yoga
A restful and deeply therapeutic practice, to realign body and mind. This class is designed to release tension and unlock holding patterns in the body with the support of props (ex. blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps). Emphasis is on slower, mindful stretching and deep breathing. A wonderful practice on its own and an important compliment to more vigorous styles of yoga practice. Suitable for all levels
Restorative Yoga with Thai Yoga Massage (Pre-registered)
Designed for 2, this semi private class offers you 45 minutes each of guided restorative yoga and 45 minutes of Thai Yoga Massage. A perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation for body and mind. Let Vrinda transform the end of your Sunday into the most magical part of week. Great for couples, friends or family.
Vinyasa Flow
A dynamic form of hatha yoga in which breath and movement are linked in a flowing set of postures and sequences. Builds internal heat by increasing vigor, creating a light body and calm mind. Improve strength, stamina and flexibility while expanding awareness and promoting mindfulness to reveal peace and restore balance. Inspired by, but not limited to, the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Jivamukti Yoga traditions. Suitable for all levels
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga moves the practitioner beyond the muscles, targeting the dense connective tissues, of the lower spine, hips, pelvis and hamstrings. During this class the postures will be held from 3-10 minutes resulting in a deep release of habitual holding patterns in the physical body. Almost all postures are practiced on the floor. This practice will benefit everyone, from beginner to advanced, especially those with active lives (cyclists, runners, Vinyasa/Ashtanga Yoga practitioners).
Yoga 101 (Pre-registered Course)
This comprehensive 4 week intro to yoga provides in-depth instruction on alignment and breath, fundamentals of vinyasa (linking movement and breath ex. Sun Salutations A & B) and modification on postures to suit individual needs. Learn the foundations of asana and breath-work necessary for a strong and safe practice. Class size limited to 10 students. Pre-registration required.
